PATH OF GODS

 50” from Positano.

The Path of the Gods is a nature trail about 9 kilometers long located within the area of the Amalfi coast, ideal for hiking and trekking. The route starts in Agerola and ends in Positano. It is a three hour  walk where you will be immersed in the most pristine natural Environment.

Between history and nature

The Path of the Gods in recent years, has become famous thanks to its sky-line, which is among the most beautiful and famous in the world. IT crosses the Amalfi coast rich in Mediterranean scrub bushes where the prodrona is located . It grows along the ridge of the Latter mountains which plunge into the blue sea of the coast from which it is possible to see the island of Capri.

The name of this natural path derives from facts and legends. It is historically written that the Greek gods passed right here to save Ulysses from the sirens who were on the island of Li Galli.  The writer Italo Calvino described this path as ” that road suspended over the magical gulf of the “Sirens” still furrowed today by memory and myth”. The same phrase can be read on ceramic tiles located at the beginning of the Path of the Gods.

The beauty of this path also lies in the absolute absence of the hand of man. The entire route is as mother nature conceived it and subsequently shaped it over the centuries.  The hand of man can only be seen in the presence of protective barriers (in some points) and IN the presence of excellent signage along the route.
