THE BUFFALO TOUR
2,30 Hours from Positano.
Estimated time for the visit: 1,30 -2 hours
Dairies, mozzarella and animals!
In addition to being a delight for the palate, visiting these dairies can turn into a unique experience because there is the opportunity to be in the stables where the buffaloes live and to discover the way in which the milk is processed .This age old recipe is necessary to obtain the delicious products that are sold by the dairy farms. On the organic farm, the animals freely forage for food that is amply available . The 600 buffaloes are literally pampered, one by one: the buffaloes are treated with showers and brushes, rubber mattresses and music! Milking takes place robotically with a “voluntary milking” system which drastically reduces the stress for the animal and makes it automatic, safeguarding the well-being of the animals and thus obtaining an excellent quality product! It is also possible to book a guided tour, which allows you to fully enjoy the experience from visiting the stables to tasting dairy products. The visits are scheduled only in the morning (from 9.00 to 11.30), since the work ends at 11.30. The visit lasts an hour and can be had in French, German, English and Italian. The itinerary of the guided tour includes:
– Production of mozzarella
– Leather workshop
– Museum of peasant civilization
– Stables
At the end of the visit there will be a mozzarella cheese tasting
